Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Description DESCRIPTION Alarm.com is seeking a passionate and talented embedded firmware engineer to join our device engineering team. The position is ideal for candidates who want to join an interdisciplinary team building cutting-edge connected IoT devices and smart sensors for home automation and security applications. Our team works with a variety of next-generation technologies integrating low-power design, cellular networks, local wireless networks, sensors, and signal processing. This hands-on role bridges the gap between software and the physical world. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with software development using the C programming language. Experience with microcontrollers. ARM Cortex-M familiarity is a plus. Experience with event-driven and multithreaded design. FreeRTOS familiarity is a plus. Experience with common communication protocols. Wireless technology familiarity is a plus (cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, Zigbee, etc). Experience with sensor integration. Digital signal processing familiarity is a plus. Experience with schematic reviews and low-power design is a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and test embedded software in C. Enhance our firmware platform scalability, robustness, and capabilities. Participate in system architecture and feature specification reviews. Practice and promote sound software engineering fundamentals. Collaborate with other Firmware Engineers, Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Product Managers to build new devices to expand the Alarm.com connected device ecosystem. $80K -- $100K
